TARARUA COLLEGE HAPPENINGS, WEEK 3, TERM 4, 2011
Tararua College 52nd Annual Senior Prize-Giving
November 8th, 2011
The Senior Prize-Giving was held in the College Hall on November 8th, which was looking magnificent for the occasion. Elizabeth Prentice ably headed the team, who worked within very tight timelines in this hectic term, including a two hour lock-down Armed Offender Squad exercise on the actual day!
Senior student leaders played a large role in presentation of awards and trophies and introduction of guests. As in the past, former students of the College were invited to present these awards. Jason Halford, NZ Farm Manager of the Year, and local Police Sergeant Jymahl Glassey were this year’s guests.
As well as the Annual Reports by the Principal, Glynis De Castro, and the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Ann Beech, several items from students were included in the line-up. Artists were: 51/50 Band, Jazz Band, Rebekah O’Hagan and Sam Keall. These items gave the audience a glimpse of some of the talents our students display during their time at Tararua College.
