The finishing touches were put in place for Spring Fever Week held in the final week of term. Last Tuesday at interval saw an early start to festivities with the annual Slave Auction, where members of the School Forum were sold off to the highest bidder to work for them for the rest of the day. There were some interesting tasks performed throughout the rest of the day. Further events the Forum have planned for the last week include a football match between staff and students, a netball game between the Boys' First XV and Girls' Netball A , our own Fear Factor and a student social.

Also this week our senior Art students have been hard at work applying the finishing touches to their portfolios, which are due to be sent away very soon. HOD Art, Mrs Purda, is very pleased with the standard of work being produced this year.

Year 13 student Mark Bengston has recently been accepted on a two year cadetship at Waipaoa Station, a commercial sheep and beef farm seventy kilometers inland form Gisborne. Waipaoa Station is one of the East Coast's established hill country properties, once being 33,000 acres in size. First year cadets carry out general work on the farm while the second years focus on stock work. Congratulations on your selection Mark.

Preparations for the 50th Jubilee in Easter 2010 are well under way, and an update newsletter will be published soon.
