UNIFORM Girls and boys each have a junior and senior summer and winter uniform, which may be purchased from The Haberdashery in the Main Street of Pahiatua, or from the second-hand uniform shop at the College (operated by The Tararua College Parent Association) that is open by appointment. Please contact the College Office 376 8344. See the bottom of the page for comprehensive uniform requirements. The school is currently undertaking a uniform review, and any recommendations made will be implemented in 2010. The uniform for the various sports codes will be notified to participants at the appropriate times. A plain blue or black jacket or coat is appropriate for rainwear/winter. No sweatshirts, polar fleeces or hoodies. A black, dark blue or blue and gold Glen Mist saffron scarf is an optional uniform item. Belts worn with shorts/trousers must be dark in colour (navy/black) and plain in style. All uniform items must be clean, tidy, with no graffiti and in good repair. Clothing worn under the School uniform must not be visible. The only jewellery permissible is a wristwatch and up to two pairs of plain studs or sleepers in each ear. No facial or body piercing is allowed. All boys must be clean shaven. No visible tattoos are allowed. Hair must be clean, tidy and of a reasonable length, style and colour. No make-up or nail polish is allowed. Sandals are not to be worn in the workshop areas, only closed shoes. Cycle helmets must be worn by all cyclists. |
